Sharing my curiousity snippets from the book
Passive learning creates knowledge. Active practice creates skill
“In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is”
With the disappearance of medium-skilled jobs, it’s not enough to get a basic education and work hard every day in order to succeed. Instead, you need to move into the higher-skilled category, where learning is constant, or you’ll be pushed into the lower-skilled category at the bottom.
if you can master the personal tools to learn new skills quickly and effectively, you can compete more successfully in this new environment.
For those who know how to use technology wisely, it is the easiest time in history to teach yourself something new.
The ability to learn hard things quickly is going to become increasingly valuable, and thus it is worth developing to whatever extent you can, even if it requires some investment first.
The core of the ultralearning strategy is intensity and a willingness to prioritize effectiveness.
The ability to acquire hard skills effectively and efficiently is immensely valuable.
P.S. I’d love to know: What is the single snippet above that sounds most interesting or impactful to you?

A curious idea on future of writing - A pen-less one?
When was the last time you used a pen to write 2-3 continuous sentences?✍️
I am kind of moved completely digital ie keyboard in mobile and pc on taking notes and expressing ideas.
If you leave out some occational use of pen to fill hard forms at bank or occational use of marker to draw and point ideas, 2023 was a pen-less year for me.
On thinking for the future, will we go out of using pen and paper in a decade or two, like ancient Egyptians used clay tablet to write.
My prediction is major writing will become brain wave based input to a PC soon. No need to write. Just think about the idea or speak. You AI companion will convert it to a document of your preferred type and language.
This will mean that bye bye to learning spelling and new languages.
